2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address, and company name (if applicable).
- Property and service details — your service address, the type of work you need, notes you add to a request, and any photos or documents you choose to share.
- Communications — messages, emails, text messages, and notes from calls and conversations with us.
- Scheduling and billing details — appointments, quotes, invoices, and payment status. Payment card details are handled by our payment providers; we do not collect or store payment card numbers on this Website.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Website, we and our service providers automatically collect technical and usage information such as your device and browser type, IP address, approximate location, the pages you view, links and buttons you click (for example, tapping to call or requesting an estimate), the website that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. This is collected using cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (see Section 7).
Information from other sources
We may receive information from the platforms we use to run our business (such as Jobber), from the channel through which you reach us (for example, a search engine listing, social media, an advertisement, or a referral), and from advertising and lead-generation platforms. We may also obtain contact, property, and demographic information about prospective customers from third-party data providers, list vendors, and public records, and use it to reach out about our services, as described in Section 3.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your requests, prepare estimates and quotes, schedule appointments, and perform and manage our work.
- To communicate with you by phone, email, and text message about your request, appointments, quotes, invoices, and service.
- To send invoices, process payments, and keep business, tax, warranty, and permit records.
- To provide customer support and follow up after service.
- To run our operations efficiently — scheduling, customer service, follow-up, and reporting — and to understand how people find and use our Website and services, so we can improve our Website, communications, and customer experience (see Section 4).
- To advertise and market our services — including online advertising, audience targeting, and retargeting (showing ads to people who have visited our Website or interacted with us), direct mail, email, phone, and, only where you have opted in, text messages — and to measure how well our marketing works (see Section 7).
- To reach prospective customers using information from third-party sources (see Section 2), in ways the law allows and while honoring opt-outs, including the National Do Not Call Registry.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- To comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect our rights.
- To send marketing emails and texts where you have asked for them — for example, by checking the optional marketing boxes on our request form — or where the law allows. You can opt out at any time.
4. Analytics, automation, and AI-powered tools
We rely heavily on technology to run and grow our business. We use analytics, automation, and AI-powered tools throughout our operations — including scheduling, customer service, communications, reporting, and marketing — to work faster, respond sooner, track and analyze the customer experience, and serve our customers better. For example, we look at how people find our Website, which pages and services they view, how quickly we respond to requests, and how satisfied customers are. These tools include:
- Jobber. Jobber is our customer-management, scheduling, quoting, invoicing, and communications platform. When you submit our online request form, your information goes directly into our Jobber account. Jobber also powers our appointment reminders and, where enabled, two-way text messaging. Jobber’s handling of information is also described in Jobber’s privacy policy.
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. These tools show us how visitors find and use our Website — pages visited, time on site, device type, general location, and actions such as clicking to call or requesting an estimate. They use cookies and similar technologies. See Google’s privacy policy, and learn how to opt out in Section 7.
- Other analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tools. We and our service providers use a broad and growing range of analytics, automation, and AI-powered tools across our business. They may analyze Website activity and conversions; organize, summarize, and help respond to customer inquiries and communications; assist with scheduling, routing, and follow-up; support customer service; measure and improve our marketing; and generate reports and insights. These tools may process information you give us or that is collected through the Website, and the specific tools we use will change over time as we adopt new technology.
These tools are used by us, and by providers acting on our behalf, to operate and market our own business, and each provider is also governed by its own privacy policy. Our use of these tools does not change the commitments in this policy: we do not sell or rent our customers’ personal information to data brokers or other companies for their own marketing, and mobile phone numbers and text-message consent collected through our text messaging program are never shared with anyone for marketing or promotional purposes (see Section 5).
5. Text messaging (SMS)
If you give us your mobile number and agree to be contacted by text, we may send you text messages. This section, together with our Text Messaging Program Terms, describes that program.
- What we send: appointment confirmations and reminders, estimate and quote follow-ups, scheduling and arrival notices, job status updates, invoice and payment reminders, replies to your questions, and customer support. Texting is two-way — you can text us back.
- How you opt in: by providing your mobile number and agreeing to be contacted by text — for example, by submitting our online request form, texting us first, or giving us your number during a call or visit and agreeing to receive texts.
- How often: message frequency varies based on your request; typically a few messages per appointment or project.
- Costs: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Opting out and getting help: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or reply HELP for assistance. You can also call us at (219) 308-5436 or email sales@superior-energy.com.
- Marketing texts are optional and separate: our request form includes a separate, optional box for marketing and promotional text messages (offers, seasonal maintenance and safety reminders, and news about our services). We send marketing texts only to people who have checked it or otherwise given separate consent, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
- Consent only: our text messaging program sends text messages only to people who have given us consent. We do not text purchased or third-party contact lists through it.
- Separate from our other marketing: our text messaging program — the dedicated business number we operate through Jobber — is used for the service messages and Jobber-approved communications described in this policy. Any other marketing we do, such as online advertising and campaigns run outside Jobber, is conducted separately and does not use that number. Mobile phone numbers and text-message consent collected through our text messaging program are not shared with third parties for that other marketing.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
All the categories of information sharing described in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.
6. How we share information
We do not sell or rent our customers’ personal information to data brokers or other companies for their own marketing. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers that act on our behalf, such as Jobber; Google (analytics and related services); payment processors; website hosting and security providers; phone, text, and email communications providers; accounting and bookkeeping tools; analytics, automation, and AI-powered tools; and professional advisers. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Advertising and marketing platforms (such as Google and Meta) — limited to online identifiers and browsing and activity information collected through cookies and pixels, as described in Section 7. We may also use audience-matching features that involve providing a limited set of contact details, such as email addresses, to those platforms. We do not provide mobile phone numbers or text-message consent collected through our text messaging program to advertising platforms.
- Project participants where needed to complete your job — for example, a utility, permitting office, inspector, or equipment manufacturer (such as to register equipment or a warranty).
- Legal and safety reasons — to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, or property of our customers, our team, or others.
- Business changes — if we merge with, sell assets to, or are acquired by another company, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
- With your consent or at your direction.
As described in Section 5, text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
7. Cookies, pixels, and advertising technologies
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We and our analytics providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to remember preferences, understand Website traffic and performance, and improve the Website. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking some cookies may affect parts of the Website. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Because there is no uniform industry standard, our Website does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Advertising, targeting, and retargeting
We advertise our services online. To do that, we use advertising and measurement technologies — such as tracking pixels, tags, and cookies from Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and other advertising platforms — to measure how our ads perform, to reach people who may be interested in our services (targeting), and to show ads to people who have visited our Website or interacted with us (retargeting). These technologies collect information such as online identifiers (for example, cookie and device IDs), IP address, browser and device information, the pages you view, and actions you take (for example, viewing a service page or requesting an estimate), and they may share that information with the advertising platforms. We do not provide mobile phone numbers or text-message consent collected through our text messaging program to advertising platforms.
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may treat some advertising and analytics technologies as “targeted advertising” or “sharing” of personal information. You can opt out of interest-based advertising through Google Ads Settings, Meta ad preferences, or the opt-out tools from the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative, by adjusting your browser settings, or by contacting us (see Section 10). Opting out stops ads from being targeted to you based on your activity, but you may still see ads that are not personalized.
8. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy — for example, to provide and follow up on our services, maintain business, tax, permit, and warranty records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.
9. How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including access controls and reputable, secure platforms such as Jobber, to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, or delete: you may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We may need to verify your identity first, and we may keep certain records we are required or permitted to retain (such as tax, permit, and warranty records).
- Text messages: reply STOP at any time to opt out.
- Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us.
- Phone calls: ask us to add you to our do-not-call list.
- Analytics: opt out of Google Analytics as described in Section 7.
- Advertising: opt out of interest-based advertising using the tools described in Section 7, or contact us.
- Marketing lists: if we contacted you using information from a third-party source, you can ask us where we got it and ask us to remove you from our marketing lists.
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws, such as the right to know, access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing of your personal information. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 14. We will respond within a reasonable time, or as required by law.
11. Children’s privacy
Our Website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party links and embedded tools
The Website may link to or embed third-party services, such as our Jobber request form, Google Maps, and social media pages. Those services have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them. We encourage you to review their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. Your continued use of the Website or our services after an update means you accept the updated policy.
